The Eatontown Lions Club hosted its 16th annual Phil Wellington Memorial Golf Outing on June 16 at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune.

Proceeds from the fundraiser benefited the Fisher House Foundation, the Captain James M. Gurbisz Foundation and Eatontown Lions Club community projects.

More than 90 golfers participated in the event, according to a news release. The outing included a lunch, beverages on the course and an awards dinner.

Each par 3 had a car giveaway if a golfer had a hole in one, according to the release.

“We are thankful to have Jumping Brook Country Club as our hosts. They do a great job for us every year,” says event organizer Toby Stark in a prepared statement. “When we are out playing on the course, we are still constantly reminded why we gathered for the day: to support our troops and our local communities.”

The Eatontown Lions Club golf committee comprises Toby Stark, Joel Stark, Vito Ruffino, Tom Riccardi, John Xenakis, Ed Stominski, Edwin Palenzuela and Joe Aretino.

Stark has been chairman of the event for more than eight years

The 82nd Four-Ball Championship is underway and Jumping Brook Country Club, in Monmouth County NJ, could not be more excited for two of our members who are up for the challenge. Peter Halas and Jason Menges combined for eight birdies o Tuesday and continue the championship this week. Good luck!

The duos of Steve Zychowski and Sam Wallach of Mendham and Jerry Lee and Brian Kramer of Trump National-Bedminster each fired rounds of 8-under-par 64 to share medalist honors for the 82nd NJSGA Four-Ball Championship on Monday, August 5, at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange.

Some 16 of 39 groups advance to match-play which begins on Wednesday morning with the Round of 16 and continues into the afternoon with the quarterfinals. The semifinals and finals take place on Thursday.

Zychowski and Wallach recorded seven birdies and an eagle, which came on the 296-yard par-4 seventh hole when Zychowski drove the green and sank a six-foot putt. Wallach’s round included a 30-foot birdie putt on the par-4 first hole.

Zychowski and Wallach, the top seeded team, takes on the No. 16 seeded duo of nephew-uncle Kieran Purcell (Essex County) and Kevin Purcell (Darlington).

Zychowski and Wallach reached the quarterfinals in 2012 when they lost to the winning team of Mike LoCastro and Harris Podvey of Rolling Greens.

“We’re good friends. We’ve known each other since junior golf,” said Zychowski, 23, who was runner-up in this year’s State Amateur and placed 15thin the State Open. “WE both play well and know each other’s games. “

“We’re both good putters,” added Wallach, 22, who caddied for Zyhowski in both the State Amateur and State Open and recently earned a master’s degree in finance at his alma mater, the University of Texas.

Zychowski, who will be playing next week in his fourth U.S. Amateur in the past five years, is considering joining the mini-tour circuit in the fall.

Lee was club champion at Trump-Bedminster last year when he was a semifinalist in the state Mid-Amateur. Kramer is a five-time club champion at Trump-Bedminster and played in the U.S. Mid-Amateur in 2009.

The pair, who face No 15 seed Peter Halas and Jason Menges of Jumping Brook, combined for eight birdies on Tuesday.

Your wedding day comes and goes and we don't want you to miss out on some of the essential items of the day. The catering staff at Jumping Brook Country Club in Monmouth County NJ are here to make sure your big day goes as smoothly as possible.

Your wedding day is finally here! All that’s left to do is say your vows and party all night, right? Well, almost. We know you’ll be busy dancing and greeting guests, but there are a few more things you’ll need to do on the big day.

Sign Your Marriage License
This one’s a biggie. With all the pre-ceremony craziness, signing a document might be the last thing on your mind, but without it, you’re not actually married! So make sure that you, your almost-spouse, officiant and witnesses get together before the ceremony to make sure everything is signed, sealed and delivered!

Eat
Most brides and grooms say that their biggest regret from their wedding day is that they didn’t actually eat any of the delicious food! Not only will you miss out on the yumminess, you may also suffer the consequences of an empty stomach (especially if you’ve been drinking alcohol). So, be sure to take a few moments to nibble on something both before and during the wedding.

Go the bathroom
It may be extremely difficult to drag yourself away from the dance floor, but a trip to the restroom can help you avoid feeling uncomfortable later on in the evening. It will also allow you to look in the mirror and adjust your hair or makeup before you head back out. Be sure to grab a bridesmaid or two to help you with your dress while you relieve yourself (sounds awkward, but that’s what your ‘maids are there for!).

Say “thanks”
Think about all of the people who helped you along the way. From your parents to your wedding party members, vendors, and more, there may be several people who truly went above and beyond to make your wedding amazing. So be sure to take the time to personally thank them. Whether it’s with a gift, a card, or even a hug and a few kind words, it’s important to let those people know how much you appreciate them on this most special day.
